Learn the art of carving and shaping wax to create your own unique ring. In this workshop run over two evenings you will be introduced to a variety of wax working techniques, including carving and mouldable wax forming. - BOOK NOW! THIS IS A TWO PART WORKSHOP, PART 2 IS ON THE 11TH JUNE
In the first workshop you will experiment with different types of wax
to make a wax ring. The wax rings will then be taken to be cast in silver (included in the course cost).
We gather again for another evening one week later to clean up and finish the cast ring, learning techniques to remove the sprue, emery and polish it so that it is ready to wear.
No previous experience is necessary! Designed for beginner to intermediate level, this workshop will guide you through the design process of wax working and finishing. All tools, equipment and materials (including a sterling silver piece weighing up to 15 grams) are provided. If you would like to make a heavier ring or additional pieces, you can pay for the extra silver, which will be charged at cost price.
Written instructions, snacks, tea and coffee are included in your workshop fee. This class is limited to six students.
If you'd like to buy a workshop as a gift but you're not sure what date the recipient will be able to go, you can purchase a workshop gift certificate. This gives the recipient the flexibility to book into a workshop at a time that suits them.
